A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MS. MABLE SCOTT OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE IN SOUTH CAROLINA'S PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM AND ON BEING NAMED HYATT PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S 1994 TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, Ms. Mable Scott has served with great distinction as a physical education and dance instructor in Richland and Sumter Counties during the past twenty years; and

Whereas, she also serves as an adjunct professor for the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Ms. Scott was honored for her many years of service as an instructor at Hyatt Park Elementary School in Columbia by being named 1994 Teacher of the Year; and

Whereas, she has received many academic and professional honors and awards in the field of education; and

Whereas, Ms. Scott's guiding principle, "it is the teacher's responsibility to make learning meaningful and enjoyable", is a goal all teachers should strive to achieve. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Ms. Mable Scott of Richland County for twenty years of service in the field of public education and on being named Hyatt Park Elementary School Teacher of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Mable Scott.
