A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE MEN'S TENNIS TEAM OF LANDER UNIVERSITY ON WINNING THE 1994 NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, AS WELL AS THE NATIONAL DOUBLES TITLE.

Whereas, Head Coach Joseph Cabri has brought yet another national tennis championship home to Lander University and to South Carolina, with the Lander men's tennis team, under Coach Cabri's guidance, capturing the 1994 NCAA Division II Championship as well as the national doubles title; and

Whereas, four Lander players were named All-Americans, and the team earned its third consecutive Peach Belt crown; and

Whereas, the 1994 national title marks Coach Cabri's fourth consecutive national championship at Lander and brings the total in his two-decades-plus coaching career to six national championships; and

Whereas, the 1994 crown was the result of hard work, dedication, unity, and superb talent on the part of the Lander players, as well as the excellent coaching and motivation of Coach Joseph Cabri; and

Whereas, this championship is a great honor for the team, its coach, Lander University, and the entire State of South Carolina and is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the men's tennis team of Lander University on winning the 1994 NCAA Division II national championship, as well as the national doubles title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the men's tennis team of Lander University in care of Head Coach Joseph Cabri.
