CONGRATULATING THE REVEREND ULYSSES DURHAM ON HIS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY AS PASTOR OF NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH IN LIBERTY.
Whereas, on April 9, 1995, the Reverend Ulysses Durham will commemorate his twenty-fifth anniversary as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Liberty; and
Whereas, he was born in Spartanburg County and was educated in the Spartanburg County public schools and at Benedict College Theological Seminary, Morris College, and Furman University; and
Whereas, he has held several pastorates over the years and various church-related positions of distinction, and he has received numerous honors; and
Whereas, New Hope Baptist Church in Liberty has flourished under his leadership; his many accomplishments there include additions to the church membership roll, additions to the usher, trustee, deacon, and deaconess boards, organization of the Church Council, Gospel Choir, and Pastor's Aid Club, and the institution of workshops for membership; and
Whereas, Reverend Durham is a man of great compassion, vision, dedication, and energy and is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Reverend Ulysses Durham on his twenty-fifth anniversary as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Liberty.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend Durham.
