A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

SALUTING KENNETH WRIGHT OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY FOR HIS ACTS OF HEROISM AND BRAVERY IN SAVING THE LIFE OF A FELLOW HUMAN BEING FROM A BURNING HOME.

Whereas, Kenneth Wright, an eighth grade student at Beck Middle School, along with Darell Nettles, saved the life of an elderly lady from her burning home; and

Whereas, the lady, Mrs. Viola Kinlaw of the North Santee Community, was rescued from the flames which were engulfing her home on Thursday, February 2, 1995; and

Whereas, Kenneth Wright's quick-thinking and genuine courage helped preserve the life of a fellow human being; and

Whereas, he is a truly outstanding young man, and his heroism merits the recognition of the General Assembly. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, salute Kenneth Wright of Georgetown County for his acts of heroism and bravery in saving the life of a fellow human being from a burning home.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Kenneth Wright.
