TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE RICHARD H. GETTYS MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEERLEADING SQUAD OF PICKENS COUNTY UPON RECENTLY BEING SELECTED FIRST RUNNER-UP IN THE JUNIOR HIGH DIVISION OF THE NATIONAL CHEERLEADERS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN DALLAS, TEXAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF BEING RECOGNIZED IN THE HOUSE BALCONY ON MARCH 2, 1995.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to have an opportunity to recognize the Richard H. Gettys Middle School Cheerleading Squad of Pickens County upon being selected First Runner-up in the National Cheerleaders Association National Championship in Dallas, Texas, which was held December 27, 1994 through December 28, 1994; and
Whereas, the Gettys Middle School Cheerleaders earned this prestigious ranking as a result of their talent, hard work, dedication, and unity; and
Whereas, under the direction and leadership of their outstanding Coach Reggia Stapleton and Choreographer Jeff Varner, the Richard H. Gettys Middle School Cheerleading squad consists of April Lajuan Adcox, Candance Brooke Aiken, Courtney Taylor Barrett, Jennifer Brooke Baxter, Theresa Jill Caldwell, Jennifer Ann Chandler, Ashley Caroline Chapman, Lisa Marie Chappell, Jamie Nicole Clark, Julie Martin Clark, Keri Hope Dalton, Melissa Diane Dickson, Angela Brooke Giffin, Allison Delaine Howell, Misti Dawn Stegall, Katherine Elizabeth Stephens, Kacy Leigh Thompson, Kory Alyson Thompson, Hannah Lynn Tucker, and Kira Brooke Williamson; and
Whereas, these true South Carolina Champions have proven their record of excellence by attaining this honor and are highly deserving of recognition; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives salute these fine young people and their coaches. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the Richard H. Gettys Middle School Cheerleading Squad on being selected First Runner-up in the 1995 National Cheerleaders Championship.
Be it further resolved that the cheerleaders, coaching staff, and other school officials will be recognized from the House Balcony on March 2, 1995.
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Reggia Stapleton, Choreographer Jeff Varner, and Randy Gilstrap, Principal of Richard H. Gettys Middle School.
