A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-2957 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE REVOCATION FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF ONE YEAR OF THE DRIVER'S LICENSE OF A PERSON WHO IS LESS THAN TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE AND WHO IS CONVICTED OF AN OFFENSE CONTAINED IN SECTION 56-5-2930 OR SECTION 56-5-2945.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-5-2957. The driver's license of a person who is less than twenty-one years of age and who is convicted of an offense contained in Section 56-5-2930 or Section 56-5-2945 must be revoked for an additional period of one year which is in addition to any other penalties provided by law."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
