TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-1035 SO AS TO REQUIRE A DEPARTMENT, AGENCY, BOARD, OR COMMISSION OF THE STATE TO PAY FINES LEVIED AGAINST IT FROM APPROPRIATED FUNDS RATHER THAN FROM OTHER SOURCES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-1-1035. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a fine levied against a department, agency, board, or commission of the State must be paid from funds appropriated to the department, agency, board, or commission in the General Appropriations Act rather than from other sources including, but not limited to, the Insurance Reserve Fund."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
