CONGRATULATING THE MEN'S TENNIS TEAM OF LANDER UNIVERSITY AND HEAD COACH JOSEPH CABRI ON WINNING THE 1995 NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Lander University men's tennis team, under Head Coach Joseph Cabri's guidance, has captured the 1995 NCAA Division II championship; and
Whereas, this is the fifth consecutive national tennis title for Lander and Coach Cabri, bringing the total number of championships to seven, four in the NAIA and three in NCAA Division II; and
Whereas, in addition, three of the 1995 Lander players were named All-Americans, one player was selected national "Rookie of the Year", and the team earned its fourth consecutive Peach Belt Athletic Conference championship; and
Whereas, the success of the men's tennis program at Lander University has been nothing short of phenomenal; the entire State of South Carolina has been repeatedly honored and distinguished by the program's achievements; and we are extremely pleased to be able to recognize these accomplishments in this special manner. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the men's tennis team of Lander University and Head Coach Joseph Cabri on winning the 1995 NCAA Division II national championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lander University men's tennis team, in care of Coach Cabri.
