A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SUPREME COURT, THE HONORABLE ERNEST A. FINNEY, JR., TO ASSIGN TO A SPECIFIED JUDGE A RECENT RAPE CASE INVOLVING STUDENTS AT A SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING.

Whereas, it has come to the attention of the members of the General Assembly that an unfortunate incident recently occurred where four college students were charged with rape. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby request the Honorable Ernest A. Finney, Jr., Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, to assign the rape case involving four South Carolina college students to Circuit Court Judge C. Victor Pyle, Jr.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chief Justice Finney.
