A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF MR. ALEXANDER CHEVES HASKELL, JR., OF EVANS WHO DIED MONDAY, JANUARY 30, 1995.

Whereas, Mr. Alexander Haskell, Jr., of Evans died Monday, January 30, 1995; and

Whereas, Mr. Haskell was a graduate of Porter Military Academy, Charleston, and Clemson College. He received his master's degree from the University of Missouri; and

Whereas, a native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Mr. Haskell was a retired dairyman. He farmed in Aiken and Richmond Counties and was co-owner and operator of Haskell's Dairies; and

Whereas, Mr. Haskell was an Air Corps veteran, serving with distinction in World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry; and

Whereas, a dedicated and active member of his community, Mr. Haskell served as director of First State Bank of Belvedere, helped organize the Belvedere Fire Department, was a member of the Beech Island Agricultural Club, the Pinnacle Club, Historic Augusta, the Richmond County Historical Society and other historical societies. He was also a member of the Rotary club of Augusta for fifty-eight years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Mr. Alexander Cheves Haskell, Jr., of Evans who died Monday, January 30, 1995.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Haskell.
