A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF C. EDGAR WILLIAMS, JR., OF ROCK HILL, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, C. Edgar Williams, Jr., of Rock Hill has died at the age of seventy-two; and

Whereas, Mr. Williams is a former Rock Hill school board member, and his engineering company installed the first rural water systems in the Southeast; and

Whereas, he was founder and president of Williams Engineering, Inc., which celebrated its thirty-fifth anniversary in 1995; he designed and installed rural water systems with the Farmer's Home Administration for six South Carolina counties beginning in the 1960's; the Lancaster County system was the first in the Southeast; and

Whereas, he served for twelve years on the school board and five years on the South Carolina Board of Registration for Engineers and Land Surveyors; he was a licensing examiner and was also an active and devoted church member; and

Whereas, he was an immensely talented individual and was greatly respected, admired, and loved by all who knew him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of C. Edgar Williams, Jr., of Rock Hill and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Williams.
