The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Almighty God, Heavenly Father, may we feel Your hand upon us as in these moments of prayer to Whom we know Your willingness to hear us when we pray to answer us when we call. We do not pray for relief from heavy responsibilities, but for release of Your help to meet them with honor; not for fewer burdens, but for greater strength to manage them with patience; not for less trouble, but for more trust in You which will help us master trouble with confidence. In all of life, may we be more than conquerors through the help of our God Who loves us without limit and Who seeks always to lead us on. Amen.
