The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O Lord our God, in Whose presence we find peace and calm for ourselves, we draw near to You in a sure and confident hope. Baffled by the fierce storms sweeping around us and by the stress and strain of the changing scene, we turn to the infinite calm of Your changeless love. Lift us up, take our hearts and minds, lead us, strengthen us and endow us with gentleness, goodness and compassion. With Your benediction resting upon us, may we face the tasks before us with honest dealing, clear thinking and wise judgement.

May the Lord make His face to shine upon us; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon us and give us peace. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of Thursday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:10 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 5.
