A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE SORROW OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AT THE LOSS OF MRS. FAYE GARNER BENTLEY OF UNION WHO DIED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 1998, AND TO OFFER THE CONDOLENCES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mrs. Faye Garner Bentley of Union, South Carolina, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, after a long illness; and

Whereas, the daughter of the late Wesley and Mildred Rippley Garner is survived by her husband, W.F. (Doug) Bentley; four daughters, Brenda Vanderford of Lockhart, Delores Farr of Jonesville, and Kathy Turner and Jean Matthews, both of Union; a son, Terry Bentley of Union; and two sisters; and

Whereas, she was much loved by her eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren; and

Whereas, one of her grandchildren, Jonathan Turner, ably and diligently, serves the State of South Carolina as page for Senator Harvey S. Peeler, Jr., carrying on his grandmother's legacy of hard work and dependability; and

Whereas, her family gleaned their strong values from observing her in her life-long dedication to them, to her work at the Monarch Plant of Milliken and Company, and to her membership at Philippi Baptist Church and the Margaret Howell Sunday School Class; and

Whereas, Mrs. Bentley's love and faithfulness will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly do hereby express their sorrow at the loss of Mrs. Faye Garner Bentley of Union, who died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, and offer their condolences to her family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to her husband W.F. (Doug) Bentley.
