A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO JOHN E. FARR FOR TWELVE YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE ON THE UNION COUNTY COUNCIL, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, John E. Farr has served three terms as Union County Councilman, with an attendance rate of better than 99 percent; and

Whereas, John E. Farr has been vice chairman of the Union County Council for the past 10 years and chairman of the Union County Council's finance committee for 12 years; and

Whereas, John E. Farr has represented Union County on the Catawba Regional Planning Council for the past 10 years and has served on the board of directors for the South Carolina Association of Counties for the past seven years; and

Whereas, during John E. Farr's tenure on Council, Union County established a 911 system, modernized its courthouse with new computer equipment, and established a recycling system. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, hereby express gratitude and sincere appreciation for 12 years of dedicated and devoted service to Union County and the State of South Carolina, upon the occasion of his retirement, and wish him many more years of health and prosperity.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to John E. Farr.
