A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE SINCERE THANKS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO OUR CONSCIENTIOUS OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE, VIVIAN BYERLY, AND TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR A JOB WELL DONE IN TAKING CARE OF THE HEALTH NEEDS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND ITS STAFF.

Whereas, Vivian Byerly has been an advocate of good health and preventive medicine since the early 1950's; and

Whereas, Vivian attended The McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing and earned her RN degree. She continued her studies in nursing at Midlands Technical College in Emergency Medical Training; University of Pittsburgh Hospital, Audiologic Analysis and Calibration of Audiometer and Treatment of Eye and Ear Diseases and Injuries; University of Georgia, Southeastern School of Alcohol and Drug Studies; Radiology and Pulmonary Function Testing Courses; and numerous other medical seminars; and

Whereas, Vivian serves as a counseling nurse for various state law enforcement agencies and continuously offers her assistance and knowledge to others; and

Whereas, Vivian is a life-long member of First Baptist Church and sings in the choir. She is a talented vocalist and performs in most of First Baptist's musical activities; and

Whereas, Vivian is an extremely hardworking health nurse who is devoted and loyal to the General Assembly in every way; and

Whereas, she deserves the thanks of every member of both legislative bodies for her excellent work and outstanding service to the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, extend their sincere thanks to their conscientious Occupational Health Nurse, Vivian Byerly, and express appreciation for a job well done in taking care of the health needs of the General Assembly and its staff.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Vivian Byerly.
