A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING MRS. JAN CAPUTO OF SUMTER COUNTY FOR HER EXCELLENT, DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AS A HOME HEALTH ADMINISTRATOR AND CONGRATULATING HER ON BEING SELECTED THE 1998 OUTSTANDING STATE EMPLOYEE.

Whereas, Mrs. Jan Caputo of Sumter County has been selected as the 1998 Outstanding State Employee; and

Whereas, Jan Caputo hails the from the west and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; and

Whereas, Mrs. Caputo moved to South Carolina in 1982 joining the staff of the Department of Health and Environmental Control Wateree District as a Home Health Nurse; by 1997 she advanced to her present position as Director of Home Based Service; and

Whereas, since joining the Department of Health and Environmental Control, Mrs. Caputo received a master's in nursing graduating with a 4.0 grade point average; and

Whereas, she is a member of the American and South Carolina Public Health Associations and on the state board since 1985, serving as chapter president for two terms; and

Whereas, Mrs. Caputo is an exemplary state employee, outstanding leader, and a caring and compassionate nursing professional, admired and respected by her colleagues and peers; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize this dedicated, upstanding state employee. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby commend Mrs. Jan Caputo of Sumter County for her excellent, dedicated service to the State of South Carolina as a Home Health Administrator and congratulate her on being selected the 1998 Outstanding State Employee.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Jan Caputo.
