TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 24-3-970 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT INMATES CONFINED IN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS' FACILITIES SHALL NOT POSSESS APPLIANCES, TELEVISIONS, OR RADIOS WHILE THE INMATES ARE IN THE DEPARTMENT'S CUSTODY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 24-3-970. Notwithstanding another provision of law, inmates confined in Department of Corrections' facilities shall not possess appliances, televisions, or radios while the inmates are in the department's custody."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
