A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INC. (TMSI) FOR ITS EXEMPLARY SERVICE AND PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA IN SETTING THE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE STATE'S TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY.

Whereas, Transportation Management Services, Inc. (TMSI) is a corporation that has been performing Title XIX Medicaid transportation services for the State of South Carolina since 1989; and

Whereas, the company has an exemplary record in regard to safety performance; and

Whereas, TMSI sets high standards in providing for the care and transport of Title XIX participants; and

Whereas, the company's record with the State is a model reflecting the benefits of privatization of certain state functions; and

Whereas, TMSI employs more than 135 South Carolinians, with an annual payroll of over $2,000,000 per year and transports more than 3,500 South Carolinians on over 30,000 one-way trips per month; and

Whereas, the company is constantly striving to improve training for Title XIX efficiency and care rendered to Title XIX participants; and

Whereas, TMSI places a high priority on community service by constructing wheelchair ramps for handicapped persons in order to improve accessibility to their homes and apartments. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and commends Transportation Management Services, Inc. (TMSI) for its exemplary service and partnership with the government and citizens of the State of South Carolina in setting the standard of excellence for the State's transportation industry.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Transportation Management Services, Inc.
