A BILL

TO AMEND CHAPTER 11 OF TITLE 50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO PROTECTION OF GAME, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-2485 SO AS TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF DOGS ALLOWABLE IN A "FOX PEN ENCLOSURE" AND TO LIMIT MOVEMENT OF FOXES FROM ONE PEN ENCLOSURE TO ANOTHER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 11, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-2485. (A) A commercial entity called a 'fox pen enclosure' or operating as a 'fox pen enclosure' or 'fox hunting enclosure' for purposes of obtaining a permit from the department, is limited to employment of one dog for every seven acres of fenced area.

(B) Movement of foxes from one commercial entity, as described in subsection (A), to another like entity is limited to movement within the same county or from one county to a contiguous county."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
