A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE KIMBERLY CLARK CORPORATION ON THE ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOUNDING AND EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE GENEROUS GRANT FROM THE KIMBERLY CLARK FOUNDATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A CHILDREN'S PARK IN BURNETTOWN IN AIKEN COUNTY.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note that this year marks the one hundred twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Kimberly Clark Corporation; and

Whereas, in honor of this milestone, the Kimberly Clark Foundation has made a generous grant to the Town of Burnettown in Aiken County to build a children's park; and

Whereas, this grant is one of thirty-six made by the foundation to communities where Kimberly Clark manufacturing facilities are located; and

Whereas, in keeping with the spirit of community volunteerism, the park will be designed by the children of the community and built over a four-day period with labor volunteered by citizens of the community; and

Whereas, the plans for the park made possible by the generosity of the Kimberly Clark Foundation and the hard work of community leaders and the rank and file citizens are evidence of the close relationship established by this outstanding company with the community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulates the Kimberly Clark Corporation on the one hundred twenty-fifth anniversary of its founding and expresses its deep appreciation to the Kimberly Clark Foundation for the generous gift to the Town of Burnettown in Aiken County for the construction of a children's park which is being made to mark this company's milestone.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. James C. Taylor, Plant Manager, Kimberly Clark Corporation, Beech Island Mill, 246 Old Jackson Highway, Jackson, SC 29831.
