CONGRATULATING MRS. LILLIE MCCOY HUCKS ON THE HAPPY OCCASION OF HER SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1998.
Whereas, Lillie McCoy Hucks was born February 13, 1928, as the only daughter of Ray L. and Allie Atkinson McCoy and is the older sister of Ray L. McCoy, Jr.; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hucks graduated from the Sumter schools and from Winthrop College in 1949 with a degree in home economics; she taught at Conway High School and Conway Middle School for nine years and taught in the Lee County public schools for twenty-one years before retiring on December 20, 1985; and
Whereas, she is married to Ed Hucks, Jr., and they have three children, Cynthia Bass-Pittard, Edward F. (Buddy) Hucks, and Nancy Hucks Billings, and five grandchildren; and
Whereas, Lillie McCoy Hucks is a delightful individual who cares deeply about others and brings joy to the lives of all who know her; and
Whereas, on February 13, 1998, she will celebrate her seventieth birthday, a true milestone; and
Whereas, we are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful lady and to extend birthday greetings and best wishes to her. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Mrs. Lillie McCoy Hucks on the happy occasion of her seventieth birthday, February 13, 1998.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Hucks.
