A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MR. JIM MILLS FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED CAREER AS CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL BAND DIRECTOR AND WISHING HIM WELL IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Mr. Jim Mills has served as band director for the Chapin High School Eagles Band for the past twenty-five years; and

Whereas, during his illustrious career, Mr. Mills' achievements include: increasing participation in the band program from twenty students to four hundred fifty students; guiding the Eagles as they captured state band titles in 1975 and 1985, and as they won an international competition in Toronto, Canada; and

Whereas, under his leadership, the Eagles have competed twice in contests in London, England; and

Whereas, by this resolution, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives would like to recognize and congratulate Mr. Jim Mills for his many years of outstanding service as director of the Chapin High School Eagles Band. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Mr. Jim Mills for his outstanding twenty-five years of service as Chapin High School Band Director and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Jim Mills.
