A SENATE RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND HONORING THE SOUTH CAROLINA SOCIETY OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL ASSISTANTS ON THE OCCASION OF ITS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY.

Whereas, in April, 1972, nineteen medical assistants from Charleston, Greenville, and Spartanburg met in Columbia and formed the South Carolina Society of the American Association of Medical Assistants (SCSAAMA); and

Whereas, by May, 1979, SCSAAMA membership had grown to 211 persons; various affiliates were added over the years and membership has continued to grow; today the SCSAAMA is an active, dynamic, effective organization that promotes the highest standards of professionalism for its members and values and encourages good health and preventive care for the people of South Carolina through the practice of the members' profession as medical assistants; and

Whereas, the excellent work of the SCSAAMA over the past quarter century is highly deserving of recognition and commendation. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and honors the South Carolina Society of the American Association of Medical Assistants on the occasion of its twenty-fifth anniversary.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the SCSAAMA.
