The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God in Whom we live, move, and have our very being, we thank You for these moments of prayer when we lift our thoughts to You. When our tasks are heavy, give us strength. When the pressures are great, grant us calmness. When the days are long and the duties are irksome, give us a poise and power to think clearly and to act wisely. Give us charity to bear the wounds of criticism, the hurt of misunderstanding, the pain of misjudged motives, and the monotony of daily toil.
This our prayer we make, Lord, because we need Your help. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

ADJOURNMENT

At 10:05 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, February 4.
