The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Cause us, good Lord, to see each new day as like having a new, clean page on which to write. This day, like them all, is such a busy day. There is so much to do. Help us to pause in the midst of our busyness to give You thanks, to ask for Your help, and praise Your Name. Let us never forget Your gracious love, a love that will not let us go. When we are consumed with worry, empty us of fear and fill us with the assurance of Your constant and never failing presence.
Keep us always in Your care. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
