The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God, our Father and the Father of all people, we pray for our beloved State - that She may remain steadfast in moral virtues and religious faith; that all ill will, injustice and selfish greed may be swept away by Your teachings that the good of all may flourish amongst us.
Inspire us by the assurance that You are with us, and with that confidence may we learn to love, to forgive, and to have a greater faith in You, and being kind and helpful to all that we meet along life's way.
Than You, Lord, for this privilege of prayer. Amen.
