The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God in Whom we live and move and have our being, we know not what this day may bring or with what forces we must deal, but we are confidently sure that You, Lord God, rule the world day by day in majesty and power. Help us to know You better, to pray more earnestly, to walk with You more intimately. Grant to us the gift of loyalty. For our homes, give us love and fidelity; for our State, a sincere service; for our God, reverence and devotion. In everything, help us to play our part worthy of the age in which we live.
To You, Lord, shall be the praise and the glory. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
