The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Almighty God, give us to see the priceless wisdom gained in our yesterdays to be woven into our todays and tomorrows. As custodians of so many good things, make of us faithful stewards of all that has been entrusted to us. Give us peace in our time: peace among nations, peace among men, peace within ourselves. Give to us a faith that rises above frustration, patience to bear the strain of waiting, goodwill that cannot be discouraged, and an understanding that knows no measure.
We thank You for this altar of prayer where we offer our praise and our thanksgiving. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
