The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

As we have entered into the doings of this day, we pray, good Lord, that You would remain with us at all times. Direct us in all our activities with Your most gracious favor and further us with Your unending help. We thank You for Your calling that binds us together in service to God and to God's people. Continue to guide us with Your wisdom, uphold us with Your power, strengthen us amidst temptations, lift us all to a loftier level. Support us in our good intentions and our worthwhile endeavors.
We join the Psalmist in prayer when he prayed: "Preserve me, O God, for in You do I put my trust." (Psalm 16:1) Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
