A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND EXTEND THE BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO MR. LOYE MAYFIELD UPON RETIREMENT FROM HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATION TO THE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE.

Whereas, Mr. Loye Mayfield has retired from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, after thirty-two years of hard work and dedication to duty as a soil conservation technician; and

Whereas, he spent the majority of his career in the service's Cherokee County Office and retired from the Spartanburg County Field Office on New Year's Eve 1999; and

Whereas, his co-workers know him as a professional, loyal, hard-working, community-minded man who is an active member of Rehobeth Baptist Church; and

Whereas, he plans to retire to his farm in Cherokee County to raise beef cattle; and

Whereas, he is the devoted husband of Bessie Mayfield and together they have two grown children, John and April, and one grandson, Harrison Tucker IV; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate deeply appreciate Mr. Mayfield's efforts and contributions rendered these past thirty-two years to the citizens of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, commend and extend best wishes to Mr. Loye Mayfield upon retirement after his many years of dedication to the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Mayfield.
