A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 9-11-25, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO RETIREMENT OF PROBATE JUDGES, SO AS TO ALLOW ASSOCIATE PROBATE JUDGES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POLICE OFFICERS RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 9-11-25 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 9-11-25. Probate judges and associate probate judges may elect to participate in the South Carolina Police Officers Retirement System or they may elect to remain under regular state retirement."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
