A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 30-5-25 SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT ALL DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED FOR RECORDING TO THE REGISTER OF MESNE CONVEYANCES OR CLERK OF COURT MUST HAVE THE NAMES PRINTED OR TYPED NEAR OR BENEATH THEIR SIGNATURES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 30-5-25. (A) Documents submitted to the register of mesne conveyances or the clerk of court for recording must have the names printed or typed beneath or near their signatures.

(B) A document submitted for recording to the register of mesne conveyances or clerk of court may be rejected until it complies with the provisions of this section."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
