A HOUSE RESOLUTION

ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE TO STUDY HOSPITAL COSTS, RATES, CHARGES AND FEES, AND EVALUATE AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON ESTABLISHING A HOSPITAL RATE SETTING COMMISSION.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That there is established a committee to study hospital costs, rates, charges and fees, and evaluate the feasibility of establishing a hospital rate setting commission. The committee is comprised of three members of the House Ways and Means Committee to be appointed by the chairman of the committee, three members of the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee to be appointed by the chairman of the committee, and three members of the House of Representatives to be appointed by the Speaker of the House. The committee must be staffed by personnel of the House Ways and Means and Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committees and by the Health and Demographics Statistics, Office of Research and Statistics, Budget and Control Board. The committee shall submit a report and recommendations to the General Assembly before January 1, 2000.
