A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE PORTS AUTHORITY'S CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, WILLIAM L. BETHEA, JR., PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, BERNARD S. GROSECLOSE, JR., OTHER BOARD MEMBERS, AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1999, AT A TIME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SPEAKER FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECOGNIZING THE STATE PORTS AUTHORITY'S OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ECONOMY OF THIS STATE, FOR THE SIGNIFICANT ROLE IT HAS PLAYED IN ADVANCING SOUTH CAROLINA'S POSITION IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, AND FOR ITS LEADERSHIP AND VISION AS OUR STATE MOVES FORWARD INTO THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the privilege of the floor of the House of Representatives is extended to the South Carolina State Ports Authority's Chairman of the Board, William L. Bethea, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, Bernard S. Groseclose, Jr., other board members and senior management on Tuesday, February 9, 1999, at a time to be determined by the Speaker for the purpose of recognizing the State Ports Authority's outstanding contributions to the economy of this State, for the significant role it has played in advancing South Carolina's position in the global economy, and for its leadership and vision as our State moves forward into the twenty-first century.
