TO AMEND SECTION 50-9-510, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO LICENSES AUTHORIZED FOR SALE, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE SALE OF A HABITAT PASSPORT FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF USING DESIGNATED WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS OR DESIGNATED HERITAGE TRUST AREAS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 50-9-510 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 372 of 1996, is further amended by adding at the end:
"(19) For the privilege of using designated Wildlife Management Areas or designated Heritage Trust Areas for recreational activities specified for those properties, the department may issue and require a habitat passport at a cost of ten dollars. The habitat passport entitles the holder to use the property for other than hunting or fishing in accordance with department regulations and any special-use restrictions for the particular property or activity. Any person who holds a Wildlife Management Areas permit or a combination hunting and fishing license is not required to purchase a habitat passport. These funds are to be used for the management and maintenance of such properties."
