A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-6-75 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS, TO PROVIDE PAYMENT FOR FOUR PRESCRIPTIONS A MONTH FOR MEDICAID ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-6-75. Subject to the availability of funds, the department shall provide payment for four prescriptions a month for Medicaid eligible recipients."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect January 1, 2000.
