A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 57-3-665 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL BEAR THE COST OF OFF-SITE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS A SCHOOL DISTRICT INCURS WHEN IT ENTERS INTO A BUILDING PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 57-3-665. Notwithstanding another provision of law, the Department of Transportation shall bear the cost of all off-site road improvements a public school district incurs when it enters into a building program."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
