A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE FAMILY OF CHARLIE DORN SMITH, WHO DIED ON FEBRUARY 10, 1999.

Whereas, Charlie Dorn Smith was born in Clarendon County, the son of the late Dr. C. D. Smith, Sr., and Effie Robinson Smith; and

Whereas, Charlie Dorn Smith, age 64, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999, at his home in Turbeville. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Green Smith, four sons, a daughter, three sisters, and four grandchildren; and

Whereas, Charlie Dorn Smith is said to have worn many hats and to have had many titles, but the titles that meant the most to him were husband, daddy, grandpa, and friend; and

Whereas, Charlie Dorn Smith is remembered by his many friends for what he was about, what he accomplished, what he did for his community and its people, and as a man who made a difference; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their deepest sympathy to his widow, his family, and his many friends upon the death of this truly fine man;

Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Charlie Dorn Smith, who died on February 10, 1999.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Eleanor Green Smith, of Turbeville and to his children and family.
