A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND SALUTING THE BROTHERHOOD ORGANIZATION OF FIRST WASHINGTON BAPTIST CHURCH OF LANCASTER FOR ITS "1999 MEN'S DAY OBSERVANCE" SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 1999.

Whereas, the Brotherhood organization of First Washington Baptist Church of Lancaster has announced its "1999 Men's Day Observance" for Sunday, April 25, 1999 at 11:00 am; and

Whereas, the speaker for the occasion is to be The Honorable Herman Young, Sheriff of Fairfield County; and

Whereas, as a part of the program, the Brotherhood desires to pay tribute to outstanding African-American males from Lancaster who have made significant contributions to the citizens of Lancaster and the State of South Carolina; this year the Brotherhood is highlighting the accomplishments of Mr. Rick C. Wade, who is the new Director of the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services and a member of the Governor's Cabinet; and

Whereas, the "1999 Men's Day Observance" at First Washington Baptist Church should be informative and rewarding for all who attend; this is an outstanding endeavor of a great congregation, and we are delighted to accord this special recognition to the church and, especially, to the church's Brotherhood on this significant occasion. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and salutes the Brotherhood organization of First Washington Baptist Church of Lancaster for its "1999 Men's Day Observance" on Sunday, April 25, 1999.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Brotherhood, First Washington Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1234, Lancaster, 29721.
