A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 39-41-257 SO AS TO REQUIRE CERTAIN RETAIL MOTOR FUEL OUTLETS TO PROVIDE BULLET-PROOF GLASS AS A SHIELD AND PROTECTION FOR THEIR EMPLOYEE-ATTENDANTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 39-41-257. Every retail motor fuel outlet which is open for sales to the public on a basis of twenty-four hours a day seven days a week shall provide bullet-proof glass as a shield and protection for its employee-attendants while on duty on the outlet's premises."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect ninety days after approval by the Governor.
