A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SOUTH AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL "THOROUGHBREDS" MEN'S TENNIS TEAM AND HEAD COACH, MIKE HICKS, ON CAPTURING THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE CLASS AAAA STATE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the South Aiken High School "Thoroughbreds" Men's Tennis Team defeated previously unbeaten Hilton Head High School to win the 1998-1999 Class AAAA State Tennis Championship; and

Whereas, the "Thoroughbreds" posted a 6-0 record to clinch their second consecutive Class AAAA State Tennis Championship; and

Whereas, the excellent coaching of Head Coach, Mike Hicks, has been crucial to the Thoroughbreds' success; and

Whereas, the South Aiken High School Men's Tennis Team for 1998-1999 included Jay Ingle, Jason McAlhaney, Evan Bromley, Rakesh Jasani, Roddy Cantey, Harry Cantey, and Phillip Chow; and

Whereas, winning the state championship is a true testimony to the talent and desire for excellence of the players, coaches, and school officials of South Aiken High School; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to take this opportunity to publicly recognize the accomplishments of the South Aiken High School Men's Tennis Team. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the South Aiken High School "Thoroughbreds" Men's Tennis Team and Head Coach, Mike Hicks, on capturing their second consecutive Class AAAA State Tennis Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach, Mike Hicks.
