A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF THE LATE JAMES DIZZLEY OF BISHOPVILLE.

Whereas, James Dizzley was born to the late John D. and Everline Dizzley May 16, 1924, and was raised in Lee County; and

Whereas, James Dizzley, of Bishopville, died at the age of seventy-four on March 14, 1999; and

Whereas, James Dizzley was a successful farmer and businessman, and an active member of his church and of the community, giving freely and readily of his time and talents; and

Whereas, his leadership included serving on many local boards and committees; he was a member of Sandy Bluff Masonic Lodge Number 44 and was a member of the Church of God Jamestown Road; and

Whereas, Mr. Dizzley was the loving husband to Margaret Dizzley, the devoted father to two sons, two daughters, and a foster son, and the adoring grandfather to ten grandchildren, four foster grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; and

Whereas, while Mr. Dizzley is said to have worn many hats and to have had many titles, the titles that meant the most to him were husband, "Papa", and friend; and

Whereas, James Dizzley is remembered by his many, many friends for what he was about, what he accomplished, and for being a man who made a difference; and

Whereas, Mr. Dizzley will long be admired by his family and many friends and his presence will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express sympathy to the family and many friends of the late James Dizzley of Bishopville.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of James Dizzley.
