A BILL

TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO QUARANTINE CATTLE ENTERING SOUTH CAROLINA FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD, AND REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT TO MAKE AN INSPECTION OF THE QUARANTINE LOT FOR "SODA APPLE".

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The State Department of Agriculture shall quarantine all cattle entering South Carolina in a secured lot for a period of not less than five days. The quarantine lot must be inspected every month for a period of six months by a representative of the department for the presence of the thistle commonly called "soda apple".

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
