TO CONGRATULATE THE WACCAMAW HIGH SCHOOL "WARRIORS" GOLF TEAM FOR WINNING ITS SECOND STRAIGHT CLASS A STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are very pleased to learn that the Waccamaw High School "Warriors" golf team recently won its second straight Class A golf championship held at The Wellman Club in Johnsonville; and
Whereas, the Warriors won the exciting two-day tournament with a total score of 607 which beat the runner-up, Christ Church, by only one shot; and
Whereas, the Warriors championship last year was the first state championship won in athletics by any team at Waccamaw High School, and to repeat this championship this year in such a manner brings great credit to Coach Frank Cegledy and to team members: Richard Cox, Ryan Hart, Megan Miller, John Ross, Alex Strange, and Clark Truluck; and
Whereas, this will be the last state Class A championship for this outstanding group of student athletes because next year Waccamaw High School will compete in Class AA; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate these wonderful young golfers and their coaches and staff for this tremendous accomplishment in repeating the state Class A golf championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives hereby congratulate the Waccamaw High School "Warriors" golf team for winning its second straight Class A state golf championship.
