TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY MISSED ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1999, BY THE STUDENTS OF HORRY COUNTY SCHOOLS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO HURRICANE FLOYD IS EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The school day missed on September 17, 1999, by the students of Horry County Schools for school year 1999-2000 when schools were closed due to Hurricane Floyd is exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
