The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

Our Father God, to this altar of prayer we come, not asking for selfish desires, rather seeking to put ourselves in tune with Your will. May we be worthy of the trust that has been placed in us. May mercy and truth be blended in perfect harmony that others be pointed to You because we have lived and labored today. Yours, Lord, be the honor and the glory both now and always. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
