The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

Gracious God, Whose love surrounds us and whose strength sustains us, enable us to see every day as the tomorrow that we worried about yesterday. Teach us to trust You more fully. Inspire us to be more diligent in the tasks at hand, knowing that small deeds done are greater than large deeds planned. Make us to know that none of us can do everything, but all of us can do something. We pray in praise and thanksgiving. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
