A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 2 OF 1963 TO ALLOW MEMBERS OF THE BARNWELL SCHOOL DISTRICT 45 BOARD OF TRUSTEES IN BARNWELL COUNTY TO PROVIDE A STIPEND TO BOARD MEMBERS FOR SERVICES RENDERED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 2 of 1963 is amended by adding a new paragraph at the end to read:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the district board of trustees may provide, by majority vote, that members, receive a monthly stipend. The stipend shall not to exceed three hundred dollars a month for members, except that the chairman shall receive a stipend not to exceed four hundred and fifty dollars a month."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
