TO COMMEND THE REVEREND GENERAL BRITT OF ST. GEORGE FOR HIS LIFE-LONG MINISTRY OF LOVE AND CONCERN FOR HIS FELLOW MAN, TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY ACTIVISM FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF OTHERS, AND TO EXTEND TO HIM EVERY GOOD WISH FOR SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt was educated in the public school system. He attended Morris College School of Religion where he received a certificate in Theology; and
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt is the pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Grover, South Carolina, and St. Mark Baptist Church, St. George, South Carolina; and
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt is a welder by trade and has taught welding at Blue Circle Cement Plant in Harleyville, South Carolina; and
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt is an appointed member of the executive board of the E & M Convention. He is the president of the Lovely Hill Sunday School convention and vice-president of the upper Dorchester branch of the NAACP. He is also a member of the Board of Water and Sewer in St. George; and
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt has devoted his life to a ministry of love and concern for others and has provided invaluable leadership to others incident to his participation in community activism for the advancement of others; and
Whereas, the Reverend General Britt is the husband of Sis. Susie Q. Britt. They have three children and five grandchildren. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, commend the Reverend General Britt of St. George for his life-long ministry of love and concern for his fellow man, congratulate him for his outstanding leadership and participation in community activism for the advancement of others, and extend to him every good wish for success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Reverend General Britt of St. George.
